It is better to buy seedlings of Boxwood sempervirens ‘Suffruticosa’ grown in Ukraine in a plastic pot with prolonged fertilizers, so the plant is not dug up with damage to the root system and after planting it is guaranteed to take root.
Habitat: In Europe to the Caucasus; in Central Europe it is found in the Mosel Valley from Trier to Koblenz, in Südbaden natural plantings; in oak forests as undergrowth on warm forest slopes, moderately dry, neutral or calcareous, humus, stony loams.
Form: Evergreen shrub, slowly and compactly growing strictly upwards.
Size: No more than 1 m in height.
Leaves: Opposite, ovate or inversely ovate, 1 - 2 cm long.
Flowers: small, honey-bearing.
Soils: prefers neutral and calcareous soils, rich in humus.
Features: Tolerates pruning well. Ideal plant for trimmed low hedges and borders.
