A dense tree with a regular habitus (crown shape), initially columnar and then ovoid.
Growth rate: Slow growing. Reaches 10 m in height. Annual growth in height 25-30 cm, in width 20-30 cm. Up to 5 years grows very slowly, then the growth accelerates, from 30-40 years the growth slows down.
Leaf color: Light green, yellow in autumn.
Shoots: Strong and thick. Attitude to light: Sunny or shaded place of growth.
Soil, soil: Prefers fresh and fertile soils, neutral or alkaline.
Pests: Almost not damaged by pests.
Planting: It is better to buy Hornbeam Columnaris seedlings in a pot, grown in Ukraine, with prolonged fertilizers, so the plant is not dug up with damage to the root system and after planting it is guaranteed to take root. But the greatest advantage of buying hornbeams in a pot is that they can be planted without buying additional fertilizers from March to November, even on the hottest days of summer.
Application: Well suited for small gardens, for landscaping small areas.
