Form: evergreen dwarf shrub with a rounded, dense crown, thin needles and vertical branches.
Size: reaches a height of 0.6-0.8 m, crown diameter of 1 m.
Annual growth in height 5 cm, in width 3-4 cm.
Needles: scaly dark green shiny, brownish-green in winter.
Soil: grows on all fresh or moist, fertile soils, from acidic to alkaline.
It is better to buy seedlings of western thuja 'Danika' in Ukraine (acclimatized) in a plastic container with fertilizers, so the plant is not subjected to digging with inevitable damage to the root system and after planting it is guaranteed to take root.
Light: shade-tolerant.
Plant features: used in single plantings, groups, rock gardens. Recommended for small garden plots, rock gardens and cemeteries.
Characteristics of the variety: Thujas in general are not very diverse in color and shape, but nevertheless are a valuable group for plant lovers. And although thujas, like other conifers, need high air humidity, they grow well within the city limits, where they are successfully used as slender, wind-resistant hedges.
