A compact tree of conical or columnar shape, with shoots directed almost vertically upwards. It grows relatively slowly, growing about 10 cm per year. In maturity it can reach a height of 8 m.

The needles are soft to the touch. The scales are spectacular, golden-yellow. The variety is perfect for color compositions, but can be damaged by frosty dry winds. It prefers fertile soils, sunny, wind-protected places.
