Picea glauca 'Conica'In the climatic conditions of Eastern Europe, it is ideal for creating geometrically perfect cones without pruning.Size: Canadian glauca spruce reaches a height of 3-4 m, crown diameter of 2 m. Annual growth in height is 6-10 cm, in width 3-5 cm.Needles: needle-like, radial, sparsely located, 10 mm long, very soft, light green.Soil: grows on fresh or moist, moderately nutrient-rich soils, from acidic to alkaline.Light: photophilous, tolerates partial shade.Plant features: Conica spruce is decorative due to the correct, conical shape of the crown. Does not tolerate compaction and waterlogging of the soil. Frost-resistant. Not suitable for urban climate, in the southern regions of Ukraine in drought unkempt plants can be damaged by red silkworm and mite. Used for single plantings, in groups, rock gardens.
